Ciao a tutti! Come procede l'anno? Oggi vi propongo un thriller che favoloso è dir poco. Avete mai sentito parlare di Flavia de Luce? No? Ebbene, dopo questo post sul primo libro della serie, correrete a cercarla!

Si, perchè Flavia è una ragazzina di undici anni che vive nella piccola tenuta di Buckshaw, con il padre, nobile e filatelico Colonnello De Luce, e le due odiose sorelle. No, lei non è una piccola Cenerentola: la bambina è, anzi, un'amante della chimica e si diletta nel suo vecchio laboratorio, ereditato dallo zio, facendo esperimenti di ogni genere. 

Un giorno, la cuoca della villa scova sull'uscio della porta un uccello morto, con un francobollo infilzato nel becco. Schifata, fa subito in modo di farlo scomparire facendosi aiutare, ma alla scoperta del volatile il colonnello è alquanto perplesso. Il mattino seguente, viene rinvenuto un cadavere nel campo di cetrioli dalla piccola Flavia, ma sembra non essere un volto noto alla famiglia. Nonostante il corpo non presenti alcuna ferita o contusione, la ragazza decide di iniziare ad indagare sulla morte sospetta. Così, girovagando per le vie del vicino villaggio Bishop's Lacey, inizia a raccogliere un indizio dopo l'altro, decisa a scoprire chi fosse il misterioso uomo, come sia morto e, soprattutto, per mano di chi. Ma andando avanti con le ricerche, verrà a contatto con una verità nascosta che metterà in discussione la vita di suo padre e non solo.

Un libro avvincente e coinvolgente, contemporaneamente imprevedibile e ironico.

Hi guys! How's going on the year? Today I propose you a fabolous thriller. Have you ever heard about Flavia de Luce? No? Well, after this post about the first book of her series, you will run to find her. Yes, because Flavia is a eleven-years-old-girl who lives in the small Buckshaw estate, with her noble and philatelist father, and the two hateful sisters. No, she's not a young Cinderella: the girl is, on the contrary, a chemistry lover and everyday she has fun in her old laboratory, inherited by her uncle, doing every kind of experiments.

One day, the villa cook finds out a strange dead bird in front of the door, with an old stamp in its beak. Disgusted, she immediately ask help to make it disappear, but when the colonel discover the bird, he looks as perplexed. The next morning, a dead body is found out by Flavia in the cucumbers garden, but it doesn't seems to be a known face for the family. Although the body is free of contusions or injuries, the girl decides to investigate about the suspicious death. So, wondering the streets of the small Bishop's Lacey village, she begin collecting a proof after another, determined to discover who the mysterious man was, how he died and, especially, who killed him. 

But going on with the researches, Flavia will get in contact with a hidden truth that will put in challenge his father life.

An engaging and captivating book, at the same time unpredictable and ironic.

Hi everybody! How are you? Because of school, study, thousand things to do, it's more than a month I don't write in the blog, I' m so sorry! I always say that I'll be more constant, but, being honest, recently I didn't read any books... But, in these holiday, I'm releasing myself.

Hoping you're enjoying your holiday and wishing you good days off, today I introduce the second wonderful book of these writer: "The messenger".

The main character, Ed Kennedy, it's a guy without ambitions, a citizen of the seediest parts of the town, with a difficult mother, a boy that lies about his age to be able to drive his taxi to earn some money. He lives with his loyal dog, Portinaio, old mate of the father, died because of alcool. Ed spend his time playing cards with his three friends: Audrey, his best friend of always, Marv, the greedy, and Ritchie, carefree and graceful. They always walk around together, but Ed's life change when he blocks a bank robbery, in front of the other eyes. Shortly after he receives the first card: the diamonds ace. Here starts her travel. Three addresses in the card, three messages he must give to three precise persons. He saves a girl from her grips, a little old woman from her solitude, mum and daughter from a husband not worthy of this name.

Ed feels himself different, he's finally giving something for the first time, he feels himself useful. Than the second ace arrive, the third too. Than the fourth, hearts ace.Three films titles that bring him to her three friends, it's their time to have a message. And he does it. Audrey surrenders herself three minutes of love, Marv finally meets his daughter, Ritchie cancels his lazyness and searches a work. But it's not finished yet. Ed receives a last card, the joker. it's the most hard he has to deal with. Solve this card means fighting with hisself... he's not the messenger, he's the own message.

It's an engaging novel, takes you from your heart and teaches you that little things are actually really big, that a lights string can change Christmas in a family: it get you notice that if you really want something, your abilities double, triple, to reach that goal. And, in the end, you just do it.

The quotation I bring from this book, is like Ed, simple but full of meaning: "Sometime people are beautiful. Not for how they seem. Not for how they talk. Just for what they are."

I'm sorry for my possible mistakes, it was a bit difficult, but I thank all who will read until the end!

Ciao amici! Come state? Causa scuola, studio, mille impegni, è più di un mese che non scrivo nel blog, vi chiedo scusa! Dico sempre che cercherò di essere più costante, ma, sarò sincera. ultimamente con tutte le cose da fare non avevo neanche più la voglia di leggere... Queste vacanze mi sto riscattando però.

Sperando che abbiate passato delle buone feste e facendovi (in ritardo, mi perdonerete?) i miei più cari auguri, oggi vi introduco il secondo libro di questo magnifico scrittore: "Io sono il messaggero", dell'autore de "Storia di una ladra di libri".

Questo libro mi ha preso veramente un sacco, era del tempo che non ne prendevo in mano uno dovendo poi bloccarlo a metà, restando col fiato sospeso.

Il protagonista, Ed Kennedy, è un ragazzo senza ambizioni, cittadino dei bassifondi e con una madre difficile, mente sulla sua età per poter fare il tassista e guadagnare qualcosa. Vive con il suo fedele cane, il Portinaio, vecchio compagno del padre, morto a causa dell'alcool. Passa il tempo con i suoi tre amici, con cui si riunisce per giocare a "Noia", gioco di carte ambito nel gruppetto: lui, la sua adorata Audrey e da sempre migliore amica, Marv, l'avido, e Ritchie, leggiadro e spensierato. Girano sempre insieme, ma la vita di Ed cambia dal giorno in cui sventa una rapina in banca, sotto gli occhi esterrefatti dei tre. In tribunale, il ladro assicura al diciannovenne (per il mondo ventenne) che gliela farà pagare, che è un uomo morto. Poco dopo, Ed riceve la prima carta: l'asso di quadri. Qui inizia il suo viaggio. Tre indirizzi nella carta, tre messaggi da portare a tre persone precise: ma per i due messaggi belli, il terzo è altrettanto pesante. Salva una ragazzina dalla sua prigionia, una vecchietta dalla solitudine e madre e figlia da un marito non degno di questo nome. 

Ed si sente diverso, sta finalmente dando qualcosa per la prima volta, come se si sentisse utile. Arriva il secondo asso, poi il terzo: sono sempre più complicati, ma li risolve entrambi; il quarto, di cuori, lo mette davvero alla prova, gioca col suo cuore. Tre titoli di film che lo riportano ai suoi tre amici, questa volta è a loro che deve destinare il messaggio. E lo fa. Audrey si concede l'amore per tre minuti, Marv finalmente incontra la sua bambina, e Ritchie elimina la pigrizia e cerca un lavoro. Ma non è ancora finita. Ed riceve un'ultima carta, il jolly. La più dura da affrontare: risolvere la matta significa combattere con se stesso... lui non è il messaggero, lui è lo stesso messaggio.

E' un libro avvincente, che ti prende dal cuore, ti insegna che le piccole cose sono davvero grandi, che un filo di luci nuove può cambiare il Natale di una famiglia intera; ti fa notare che se vuoi davvero qualcosa, le tue capacità raddoppiano, addirittura triplicano, per raggiungere quello scopo, E alla fine ce la fai.

La citazione che prendo da questo libro sembrerà una delle più semplici, come Ed, ma dentro è piena di significato: "A volte le persone sono belle. Non per come sembrano. Non per come parlano. Proprio per quello che sono".

Siamo già arrivati ad agosto, il tempo passa davvero in fretta... Oggi ho deciso di deliziarvi con il libro che ho appena finito di leggere. giusto due giorni fa. L'autore, prima di diventare quello che è oggi, è stato giornalista, broker e, anche tutt'ora, musicista di una band. Nesbø ha avuto successo già con il suo primo giallo, pubblicato nel 1997 dal titolo Il pipistrello. Ha scalato in breve le classifiche e successivamente pubblicato molti altri romanzi, anche di letteratura per i più giovani.

Il confessore è un giovane di trent'anni, Sonny Lofthus, in carcere da tredici perchè accusato di un duplice omicidio che in realtà non ha commesso. Un eroinomane caduto nel baratro dopo il suicidio del padre, un poliziotto corrotto, che ha confessato gli omicidi per avere vita più facile.. e droga. In prigione ascolta i peccati dei compagni e li benedice, assolvendoli e ridando loro la pace di cui hanno bisogno. Ma anche per Sonny arriva il momento di risorgere, quando scopre che suo padre non si è suicidato ma è stato ucciso dalla malavita di Oslo. In quel momento, dopo un'evasione degna di nota, inizierà con la sua fredda vendetta stando al di sopra della legge, e neanche l'amore per una nuova donna lo convincerà a fermarsi.

It's already August, time goes really fast... Today I decided to delight you with the last book I read. The author, before coming who he's today, was journalist, broker and, still today, musician in a band. Nesbø has already had success with his first thriller, The bat, published in 1997. He quickly climbed over the charts and then he wrote several other novels, also for young people.

The son is a young man of thirty years, Sonny Lofthus, in prison fot thirteen, accused of a double murder that, actually, he didn't commit. A heroin addicted fell in the depths after his father suicide, a corrupt cop, who confessed the two murder to have an easier life.. and drug. While he's in prison, he listen to his mates sins, blesses all them and absolves them giving again the peace they need. But the sunrise arrives even for Sonny, when he find out that the suicide of his father was, actually, a murder organised by the Oslo mob. At that moment, after an escape worthy of note, it'll start his icy revenge being above the law... even the love of a new woman can't persuade him to stop that.

Stasera vi presento il libro su cui ho pubblicato un video pochi giorno fa, e con lui la sua meravigliosa scrittrice! E' un'autrice spagnola che ha pubblicato il suo primo libro nel 1989, ma è diventata conosciuta circa dal 2000 grazie ad altri romanzi con cui ha vinto tre dei premi letterari spagnoli più importanti. In questo libro, mentre Patricia è in aereo, una sconosciuta le rivela che qualcuno vuole la sua morte. Lei resta sconvolta da quest'affermazione, ma non se ne preoccupa e ben presto ritorna alla sua vita di sempre. In poco tempo però, cominciano ad accaderle una serie di sviste che in breve diventano veri e propri incidenti: Patricia allora si ricorda di quelle parole e, presa dal sospetto e dalla sfiducia che ormai prova nei confronti di tutti, vuole scoprire se è davvero in pericolo... ma per farlo deve essere pronta a leggere dentro se stessa.

Tonight I want to present you the book about which I shared a video some days ago, and with it, also his wonderful writer! She's a spanish author who published her first book in 1989, but who got famous in about 2000 with some other novels, that won three of the most famous spanish literally prizes. In this book, while Patricia is flying back home, in the plane a stranger tells her someone wants her dead. After that, she's a bit shocked, but she doesn't care about that and returns soon to his daily life. However, in a few time a series of little mistakes starts happening to her and  they become soon real accidents. Then, Patricia remembers the plane stranger's words and, taken by suspicion and distrust, decides to find out if she's really in danger... but to do this she has to be ready to read immediately into herself.

Ciao! Pronti per il weekend? Io lo voglio cominciare parlando di "Kitchen", che ho letto recentemente e mi ha fatto innamorare di questa scrittrice giapponese meravigliosa! 

Il titolo del romanzo deriva dall’ossessione della protagonista per la cucina e tratta della perdita della famiglia e della possibilità di ricostruirsene una, scegliendola. Ma se pensiamo alla famiglia tradizionale siamo lontani. Mikage sceglie di vivere in una famiglia dove la madre è in realtà il padre. Questo racconto, tesi di laurea dell’autrice, mescola la storia di un amore perso con la fantascienza in pieno stile manga. La Yoshimoto affronta la solitudine, il cibo come risorsa d'arte, l'omossessualità e quello che è a lei più caro della morte, il tutto contornato da uno stile lucido e triste pieno della sua sensibilità, presente in ogni suo libro.

Da questo romanzo, condivido con voi la frase “Vorrei essere felice. Più della fatica di continuare a scavare nel fondo del fiume, mi attira il pugno di sabbia dorata che ho trovato".

Hi guys! Ready for the weekend? I want to start it talking about "Kitchen", that I recently read and that let me to fall in love with this wonderful japanese writer!

The main character is obsessed with kitchens and from that comes the book title. She's Mikage and choose to live in a family where the mum is, actually, the dad.

B. Yoshimoto deal with loneliness, food as an art, homosexuality and all that she thinks is dearest compared to the death. From this book, I share with you the phrase "I would be happy. More than the struggle to continue digging into the bottom of the river, what attracts me is the handful of golden sand that I found out". And what about you? Do you like this author?
